| O'Brien Named Managing Partner
O'Brien is a well-known water rights attorney with clients throughout California and the western United States. His clients include cities, counties, water districts, wineries, ski areas and private developers. He has served as trial counsel in major water cases and represents clients in transactions involving the purchase and sale of water rights. O’Brien joined Downey Brand in 1985 after practicing law in Denver and Washington, D.C. He is the former Chair of the American Bar Association's Water Resources Committee and a former member of the Executive Committee of the State Bar of California, Real Property Law Section. O'Brien is active in the community. He currently serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of Capital Public Radio, Inc. and is a former president of the Eureka Schools Foundation.
