Alexandra M. Maher

Alexandra helps clients navigate complex issues in a wide range of litigation matters.

She uses her attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and creativity to resolve issues in and out of the courtroom. Before joining Downey Brand, she developed a strong appellate advocacy foundation through her fellowship and clerkship experiences. Alexandra first served as a post-graduate appellate fellow at Horvitz & Levy, the nation’s largest law firm specializing exclusively in civil appeals, where she refined her legal research and writing skills. She then clerked for a federal appellate judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, gaining invaluable insight into the appellate process and judicial decision-making. These experiences give her an understanding of how cases are shaped on appeal and strengthen her ability to craft compelling legal arguments at every stage of litigation.

While attending LMU Loyola Law School, Alexandra externed with the Honorable Robert N. Kwan at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California. She was also a member of the Ninth Circuit Appellate Clinic, the Consumer Bankruptcy Clinic, and the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review.
