Alexandra Maher Joins Downey Brand’s Litigation Practice

March 7, 2025

Downey Brand is pleased to announce attorney Alexandra Maher has joined the firm’s litigation practice as an associate in its Sacramento office.

Prior to joining Downey Brand, Alexandra developed a strong appellate advocacy foundation through multiple fellowship and clerkship experiences. She first served as a post-graduate appellate fellow at Horvitz & Levy, the nation’s largest law firm specializing exclusively in civil appeals, before clerking for a federal appellate judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. With these experiences, Allie brings a deep understanding of how cases are shaped on appeal and a strong ability to craft compelling legal arguments at every stage of litigation.

Alexandra earned her J.D. from LMU Loyola Law School in 2021, and her bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University in 2013. While attending law school, she externed with the Honorable Robert N. Kwan at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California. She was also a member of the Ninth Circuit Appellate Clinic, the Consumer Bankruptcy Clinic, and the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review.

In her free time, Alexandra enjoys running and walking with her husband, reading, and hanging out with her cat.
