Janlynn Fleener Recognized Among Sacramento Business Journal’s Power 100 for 2025

Downey Brand is proud to announce that its Managing Partner, Janlynn Fleener, has been named to the Sacramento Business Journal’s Power 100 List in the banking and professional services industry category for 2025. This is her second consecutive year earning this recognition, which honors influential leaders shaping the future of the Sacramento region across various sectors such as business, healthcare, and finance.

As managing partner, Jan is pivotal in guiding Downey Brand’s direction and growth. She oversees a team of approximately 90 attorneys and more than 75 professional support staff across the firm’s Sacramento, San Francisco, and Stockton offices. She also leads the firm’s executive committee in developing and implementing key policy and strategic initiatives.

Jan’s leadership at the firm extends beyond her current role. Before being elected managing partner in 2023, she chaired the firm’s Litigation Department, the largest in the region, for nine years. A veteran trial attorney with over 30 years of experience, Jan has built a reputation representing many of the region’s leading companies in high-stakes disputes in both state and federal courts.

Outside of office, Jan is a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum, Mountain Valley Chapter, and serves on Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. She has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America® for her expertise in commercial litigation and by Sacramento Magazine in its “2020 Most Powerful Business Leaders in Sacramento.” Most recently, Jan was honored with the Sacramento Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business Award in 2024.
