Yuba Water Agency Seeks Extension for the Lower Yuba River Accord Water Transfer Program

On May 29, 2024, the California State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) issued notice of a petition for the long-term extension of the Yuba Accord Water Transfer Program (Transfer Program), filed by Yuba Water Agency (Yuba Water) on April 4, 2024. Yuba Water seeks a 25-year extension of the Transfer Program to continue the transfer of up to 200,000 acre-feet of water per year, through December 31, 2050. The petition also seeks to add new places of use, points of re-diversion, and purposes of use to facilitate the Program’s operation beyond 2025.
